President Bush to host Warrior Open Golf Tournament
DALLAS, TX (June 1st, 2011) – The George W. Bush Presidential Center today announced the Warrior Open, a two-day golf tournament featuring members of the U.S. Armed Forces who served their country honorably and were severely wounded during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
“As Commander-in-chief, I had the honor to see firsthand the commitment and patriotism of our military,” said President Bush. “I continue to be inspired by the courage of those who have volunteered to wear our nation’s uniform in times of danger.”
The Warrior Open is a 36-hole competition at Las Colinas Country Club in the Dallas area on October 10th and 11th, 2011. The tournament will honor all those who serve and sacrifice to defend the United States of America, and will herald the many organizations that give their time, talents and resources to support the men and women of our military and their families.
Applications for the tournament must be submitted via www.warrioropen.com by July 15, 2011. To qualify for the Warrior Open, applicants must:
- Have been seriously injured in the war on terror;
